A quirky non-touristy place is a treasure in any trip. Khichan is one such gem in my travels. The bonus was the 100+ year-old ancestral home of my friend. This beautiful house is made of a red stone and intrinsic patterns are painstakingly carved on the walls and pillars. With many doors and windows interconnecting the various quarters you can get lost in here. It’s sad to see such beauty being lost to the time, at the same time I was glad to see my friend’s uncle doing all he can to hold on to the beauty of that house.
